I haven't scheduled anything to go into the art show, although I would like to complete one more bookmark design. I found a lead on a place that will print and cut my bookmarks for me inexpensively, leading to a better/cheaper product for the end user. Hopefully their quality meets their advertising.
I'm going to order a new set of business cards as well, but I'm thinking it's going to be a short stack, as I want to coordinate them with the final design of cheekitty.com. I have a couple of new magnet designs I want to make as well, so I'll be busy over the next couple of weeks, figuring out what pieces I want to turn into merchandise. Have a favorite painting you'd love to get on a magnet or mug or something different? Tell me about it! I have reproduction rights to everything posted online right now.
In other news, since I got the new phone, I now have the ability to take photos of works in progress, such as this painting for Tigerwolf:
The lighting is really atrocious, and I need to learn to photograph art better, but it does give you an idea of what I'm up to! The story behind the piece is the two friends are wandering in the woods, and the Tiger isn't paying attention, and.... gets stuck. His buddy climbs up on the rock and tosses him a rope, and he, without thinking, throws it back. The speech bubble says, 'You're supposed to hold on to it, not throw it back!'
I thought it was a cute story, and I'm really pleased with how it's coming out. The grass in particular has some really nice textures going, and I'm about ready to start delving deeper into the textures on the rocks. It's been a fun painting!
At any rate, I just have tomorrow left to get through, then it's a weekend. Yaaay weekend! Have a great evening folks!
