So! I have a question for those reading here that do comic work. Do you do it all on one large sheet, or do you do more normal-sized drawings for each panel and stitch them together using photoshop or equivalent?

I have a short little thing I'm trying to put together, but doing it on an 11x14 page is proving... difficult. I have trouble drawing that small. So I thought I'd ask!

Yeah, all on one page for me but 11x17 and adjust the actually-used drawing area down to 10x15 if you want a 'comic book page size'.

Try doing a thumbnail before you do the actual page itself, that'll help you keep from over-crowding each panel. You can't actually get that much detail into each page, especially if you're reducing it from there to a usual comic's 6x9 form factor.

Thank you! It's intended for web publication, not print, but I suspect that will have much the same issues. :)

Oh yeah, even more so! Try to keep the panels clean, and don't forget the speech bubbles. };)

If you want to do anything interesting with the panels (as opposed to within the panels), doing them on separate pages could be problematic. Also, doing them on one page helps the brain to see all the panels as one composition, which for the reader, it will be, visually.

But I suspect this is like all other artistic endeavors - you should do what works for you!

This is for a 'Vacation as comic' one-off thing, so I guess I shall experiment, and see what works. :) Thank you for the input! :)

You're welcome.

Have fun! Experimenting can be a lot of fun, as can vacations!
