My laptop is starting to clog up a bit when I run outlook, so I thought I'd go back to my old favorite, Eudora. Welllll... turns out Eudora doesn't want to play nice with my gmail account. I've gone over all the settings, and it just will not connect (every time it tries to check mail, it times out).

So.. I'm looking for either some help configuring Eudora (fistshake), or suggestions on a basic, few-frills email client. I'd like a good spam filter, and something that isn't going to be a total resource hog like Outlook has been.

Thanks guys!

Hmm, I am actually using gmail as my mail client now. Pretty easy to set up and you can set it up so it checks other addresses (up to 5) for you.

I am all about Thunderbird. I switched last year after 10+ years on Eudora (seriously!) and I'm extremely happy. It's very easy to set up to pop e-mail from Gmail, or you can fully synchronize with Gmail using the built-in IMAP functionality. It should help also that the user interface is very Outlook-like :-)

I'm trying out Thunderbird. :) We'll see how it works out.
