I'm slowly getting life and everything else in order.. trying to reorganize my life to make most efficient use of time and resources. So far.. the results have been mixed. On a suggestion, I did subscribe to Flylady, simply because it may be easier than trying to tackle everything at once. We have a lot of clutter, and alot of it is necessary clutter; we just lack the proper places to put it.
Right now, I'm listening to Bren fight with our washing machine (anything more than two pairs of underwear and a sock, the thing gets unbalanced), and reflecting on how fortunate I am to have him in my life.
I've seen all the 'Marriage is Love' statements over the past few days, with with apologies to my friends and loved ones, I have to disagree. Love is love. Marriage is a committment, a promise; a solemn statement between two people. It should be sacred.. although far too many treat it lightly these days. (Please note: I am all for marriage for any couple that's committed to each other, be they homo, hetero or transexual.)
In more frivolous news, I've decided the time has come for me to procure a digital camera. I've settled my sights on the Olympus Stylus 300. It's gotten good reviews, and it looks like I can get some really good rebates from Circuit City and Comp USA. It'll probably be my birthday gift to myself.
I did my taxes already, and was quite frustrated and dismayed to find that I owe the government $170. I guess my employer isn't withholding enough, which is odd, considering that I'm single and have given Uncle Sam free reign to pilfer my paycheck every payday. Next year, my taxes will be more complicated, so this will probably be the last time I can use the EZ form, sadly.
Soo.. anyway. This week, Bren has a dental appointment with a new dentist. If he likes the place, and it's not too expensive (we have the same insurance provider and coverage through our respective employers), I'll likely make an appointment to have my teeth looked at. I am in dire need of a cleaning, and I know I don't take care of them the way I should. One more thing on my list of things I Must Do. Ah well.
We bought a new scale today. It's considerably more accurate than the old one, showing a 15lb difference. I was pleased to find out I HADN'T gained all the weight I thought I had. Back to the dietary grind I go.
And since right now my knees are aching (I took a nasty spill outside when I got home) I am going to wrap this up, adjourn to either the couch or the bathtub, and just veg for a while. G'nite folks.
