Serious Eats apparently did a city restaurant guide for Chicago. I don't get down to the city to eat terribly much, but there are some familiar names on the list. Some of the others... I definitely want to check out. Yum!

Thanks for posting this! A lot of these are pretty close to me, but I've been to shamefully few of them. A lot of their selections aren't that surprising, like Hot Doug's, Smoque, and Kuma's Corner in their respective categories. It's nice to see the very good Spoon Thai getting some love. Anyway, if there's any place you guys would like to hit and would like to use my place as a jumping off point, please let me know!

You're very welcome! I posted it as much for me as for you and our other local foodie buddies. :D

We DEFINITELY want to come down into the city, whether just to hang out with you or to go out for dinnerings. It looks like August is getting disgustingly busy... maybe we can squeeze a Saturday in there somewhere. :)

Another great resource is the LTHForum Great Neighborhood Restaurant Awards (and I just noticed they're making some nice lists documenting how the suburbs are not a culinary wasteland - woo!).

They should have added breakfast to their list to. I go to Ann Sather every time I stay downtown over night. They have the very best cinnamon rolls.
